To support our continued growth and vision for academic excellence, we are seeking a visionary and dynamic Principal to lead our academic and operational functions.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and operational management to ensure the academic success and institutional growth of Watney College.
* Oversee curriculum development, quality assurance, and academic compliance in line with awarding bodies and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure the highest standards of teaching, learning, and student support.
* Lead the college through external inspections, audits, and partnerships, including OfS registration and university affiliations.
* Recruit, manage, and develop academic and administrative staff.
* Drive initiatives for student engagement, retention, and achievement.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and equality and diversity regulations.
* Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, awarding bodies, regulatory authorities, and education partners.
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum of a Master’s degree in Education or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
* At least 5 years of senior leadership experience in further or higher education.
* In-depth understanding of UK education frameworks, awarding bodies, and regulatory compliance (e.g., OfS, QAA, ESFA).
* Proven ability to lead teams and implement quality improvement measures.
* Strong strategic, operational, and financial management skills.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
* A passion for inclusive education, innovation, and academic excellence.
