Fixed Term, Full Time
Working Style: Remote with minimum once a month in Chelmsford, Essex office, plus travel across Essex.

Note: This is a Fixed Term Contract / Secondment for 12 months, possibly extended until 31st March 2027, subject to external funding confirmation. This is a politically restricted role.

Opportunity Overview
As a Prevent Training & Engagement Officer in the Equalities and Partnerships Team, you will lead initiatives to prevent radicalisation, develop and deliver training programs, and engage with diverse communities to promote understanding of Prevent and related topics.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design, review, and deliver comprehensive training packages on Prevent and radicalisation for various audiences.
2. Administer training programs for staff, partners, and community groups.
3. Develop engagement plans to work with local communities across Essex.
4. Build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
5. Support local Prevent strategies and risk assessments with Prevent Leads.
6. Develop project bids and coordinate project delivery under the Preventing Radicalisation Initiative Fund.
7. Provide expert advice on local Prevent strategies.
Working Arrangements
This role is primarily remote, with in-office presence in Chelmsford at least once a month, and travel across Essex as needed.
Candidate Requirements
1. Strong communication skills, with experience in delivering training and engaging diverse audiences.
2. Experience working in political environments and stakeholder engagement.
3. Ability to think creatively, problem-solve, and develop ideas into actions.
4. Knowledge of the Prevent Duty and risks from extremist ideologies.
5. Level 4/5 qualification or equivalent experience.
6. Experience writing successful bids for external funding.
