We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Plumber to come and join our Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account in HMYOI Brinsford New Rd, Featherstone, Wolverhampton WV10 7PY.
At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing them with safe, clean and efficient prisons.
By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.
Plumbers plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.
The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week. (Shift pattern is 07:45am to 16:45pm Mon-fri (early finish Friday) Overtime as required and on-call one in 10 weeks)
What you will do:
* Ensuring Health & Safety standardsare met across the contract.
* Performing statutory workson time, ensuring compliance.
* Conducting routine and non-routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs.
* Inspecting, sampling water, and assessing risksto maintain system integrity.
* Repairing mains water supplyand address life-expired equipment.
* Monitoring the BMS Systemto ensure optimal performance.
* Supporting zero carbon initiatives, contributing to sustainability goals.
* Handling additional tasksas directed by your line manager, including working at height and in various weather conditions.
What makes this role unique is y ou will ensure all works are carried out to the highest safety standards and to the agreed method statements. Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
We want to hear from you if you have:
* Experience in operating light plant
Ideally you will be qualified to NVQ level 3 in Plumbing and Heating with experience in plumbing maintenance, however we may consider applications if you have NVQ level 2.
In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have Legionella Control (L8) and experience in a commercial environmenttohelp you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
