Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced EHV Cable Jointer to join a growing power infrastructure team on a permanent basis. The role will involve the jointing and termination of Extra High Voltage (EHV) cables across utility and infrastructure projects in Shropshire and surrounding regions, supporting the delivery of critical electrical networks.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out EHV jointing and termination works on 33kV and above networks
Installation, preparation, and testing of EHV cables and accessories
Work within joint bays, substations, and operational sites
Ensure all activities comply with DNO, National Grid, and client standards
Complete inspections, testing, and final quality checks
Read and interpret cable schedules, drawings, and technical documentation
Produce accurate site paperwork, RAMS, and completion reports
Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
Liaise effectively with supervisors, engineers, and project managers
Provide support during outages, shutdowns, and fault response when required
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Demonstrable experience as an EHV Cable Jointer
Authorised and competent to work on 33kV+ networks
NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Cable Jointing or Power Networks
Experience working on DNO and/or ICP projects
Valid CSCS or ECS card
SAP or Authorised Person status desirable
Full UK Driving Licence
