I am working with a diverse and inclusive school located in Swindon.This school is looking for a bright, engaging Teaching Assistant to join a key stage 1 student starting September. Staff and pupils are proud to be part of a large, but close-knit, community that is working together for a common purpose.
You will play a vital role in a children's educational, emotional and social development, working directly with them on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. You must be able to provide a calm, consistent and reassuring presence, adapting classroom materials to encourage engagement and proactive learning.
Responsibilities:
* Adapting lesson materials, making them accessible to the pupil.
* Providing one to one support during class.
* Reinforcing learning objectives set by the teacher.
* Assisting with literacy and numerical tasks breaking them down into more manageable steps.
* Understanding the individual needs of the pupil to best support them in class.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the pupil, parents and colleagues effectively.
* Patience, empathy and resilience to meet the diverse needs of students.
* Relevant qualifications and training non essential proving good experience.
* An understanding of relevant safe guarding and child protection procedures.
