We have an exciting opportunity for a Families Worker who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs. The focus of this role is to provide intensive key work to families who have drug and/or alcohol misuse issues which could potentially putting their children, families or themselves at risk. You will work to help families overcome complex problems which will enable them to become reintegrated into society. No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key. Where: Merseyside Hours: Full time 37.5hrs per week Salary : £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 Dependent on experience(Based on full time hours, pro rata for part time hours) * Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. About the role: Work with families taking a holistic, whole family approach to help develop their life skills, this may include: budgeting; managing finances; cookery; parenting Provide interventions via 1 to 1 or groups. Groups will include (but are not limited to): practical parenting advice; support groups; social groups; fathers groups; therapeutic groups Work closely with local Social Services Teams and Family Intervention Projects to develop a tailor made support plan which looks to address the needs of the family whilst safeguarding children and promoting their wellbeing. Promoting carer, service user and community involvement Providing advocacy for access to partnership services Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination About you: Experience of working with families displaying challenging behavior in one or more of the following fields: social work; youth offending; substance misuse; probation; health; family work; education; youth and community Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others What we will give to you: 25 days holiday ( bank holidays) rising by 1 day for each years’ service “Capped at 30 days” Paid ‘Wellness’ hour each week along with a ‘Wellness’ hub and Employee Assist Programme Contributory pension scheme Several benefits incl. discounts for shopping, cinema, holidays, etc. A friendly and supportive team Training, career development & progression opportunities Refer a friend scheme and receive vouchers if candidate is successful.
