Your New Role
Permanent Plumber position to join the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account in HMP North Sea Camp, PE22 0QX. Work is on-site with a 39-hour week across 7 days and a weekend shift pattern. There is a requirement to work 1 in 2 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.
At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing safe, clean and efficient prisons. By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly. The Plumber plays an important part in ensuring planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.
Responsibilities
* Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met across the contract.
* Performing statutory works on time, ensuring compliance.
* Conducting routine and non-routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs.
* Inspecting, sampling water, and assessing risks to maintain system integrity.
* Repairing mains water supply and addressing life-expired equipment.
* Monitoring the BMS System to ensure optimal performance.
* Supporting zero carbon initiatives, contributing to sustainability goals.
* Handling additional tasks as directed by your line manager, including working at height and in various weather conditions.
Qualifications
* Appropriate Trade qualification (Level 3).
* Experience in operating light plant.
* Ideally NVQ level 3 in Plumbing and Heating with experience in plumbing maintenance, or NVQ level 2 considered.
* Desirable but not essential: Legionella Control (L8) and experience in a commercial environment. Training will be provided to bring you up to speed.
Security and Requirements
Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
