Role Overview
Broadland Housing Association is seeking an Independent Non‑Executive Director to join its Board at an important point in the organisation’s development. Broadland provides good‑quality, affordable homes across Norfolk and North Suffolk, and has deep roots in its communities with a clear social purpose guiding decision‑making today.
Key Responsibilities
* Share collective responsibility for the long‑term leadership, direction and success of the Association.
* Help set strategic direction, oversee performance and risk, and provide constructive challenge to the Chief Executive and Executive Team.
Required Qualifications
* Experience in a treasury, lending, funding or corporate finance environment, understanding stewardship of long‑term debt.
* Sound judgement, strategic thinking, understanding of risk and confidence to provide constructive challenge in a boardroom setting.
* Strong commitment to social impact, good governance and collective decision‑making.
Commitment & Compensation
Board members are expected to act with integrity, prepare thoroughly for meetings, contribute thoughtfully to discussion, and take shared responsibility for Board decisions. The time commitment is typically one and a half days per month, including Board and committee meetings, with occasional additional commitment for strategy away days and development activities. The role attracts an annual fee of £5,400 plus reasonable expenses.
