POSITION DETAILS: Position Title: L&D Consultant Reports to (POSITION): Career Pathway Manager Team: HR & Admin Department: HR Working Format Hybrid PURPOSE OF JOB: The L&D Consultant is responsible for designing. Delivering, and evaluating high quality learning solutions that build capability, improve performance, and support organisational objectives. The role works in partnership with stakeholders to diagnose learning needs and provide pragmatic, evidence-based learning solutions. *Please note that this role is a fixed‑term contract for a minimum of 12 months, with the potential to become permanent. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Working with leaders, managers, and subject matter experts to identify learning and capability gaps. Translate business priorities into targeted learning solutions aligned with organisational strategy. Use data, feedback, and performance metrics to inform recommendations. Design engaging learning solutions using a blend of delivery methods Create learning materials that reflect best practice and is accessible, relevant, and inclusive. Deliver high-quality training sessions and workshops (in-person and/or virtual). Facilitate group learning, discussions and reflective practice with confidence and credibility. Adapt delivery styles to meet the needs of different audiences and learning preferences. Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on learning and development approaches. Manage multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously. Use insights to continually improve learning solutions. Contribute to the development of L&D frameworks, pathways, and standards. Ability to consult, influence, and build effective relationships at all levels. ESSENTIAL Professional Qualifications Professional qualification in Learning & Development, HR or related discipline (e.g. CIPD Level 5 or above). DESIRABLE Years of Experience At least 2 years of experience in delivering training. ESSENTIAL Other Requirements Expert knowledge in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong PowerPoint and other Office Tools. Use of Authoring tools. Power Automate / PowerBI ESSENTIAL ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE CORE Competencies & SKILLS Proven experience in a learning and development, organisational development or talent role. Strong understanding of adult learning principles and learning design methodologies. Experience delivering or facilitating learning with diverse audiences. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects. Confident use of digital learning platforms and tools. Collaborative and customer-focused approach. Curious, reflective, and committed to continuous professional development. MEASURES & GOALS OBJECTIVE MEASURE FREQUENCY Create a training programme to allow employees to enter the business and receive basic training to perform well in their role as well as constant personal improvement. Staff retention, employee satisfaction (eNPS and internal surveys) Review quarterly. First milestone after 1 year. Increase awareness within Bytes of training that is available to staff. HR System reporting on take up of training offered outside of mandatory programmes. Review quarterly. First milestone at 9 months.
