Key job responsibilities
1. Oversee project quality management systems during Commissioning and Turnover phases, adapting them to specific needs and risks.
2. Monitor and report KPIs across the regional project portfolio, tracking commissioning and turnover status.
3. Develop and implement detailed execution plans for testing activities, ensuring alignment with project schedules and budgets.
4. Conduct progressive audits of general contractors to verify compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
5. Collaborate with Construction Manager, RME, and Operations to establish turnover philosophy and drive project completion.
6. Lead system walkdowns, manage punch list creation and categorization, and verify the completion of critical items.
7. Coordinate with GES, partner teams (e.g., procurement), and facility operations for technical support and issue resolution.
8. Create and implement detailed area commissioning plans, ensuring safety procedures are in place.
9. Manage the commissioning team lifecycle, including recruitment, training, supervision, and demobilization.
10. Oversee interface management between Construction and Commissioning teams, including coordination with Design and RME.
11. Ensure proper documentation collection and handover, including O&M manuals, training materials, as-builts, and spares lists.
12. Coordinate vendor/supplier representatives during the commissioning phase.
13. Partner with the Project Team and PMO to communicate commissioning requirements effectively.
14. Facilitate daily and weekly progress review meetings.
Basic qualifications
* Degree in engineering or construction management.
* Electrical Engineer.
* Significant professional experience in a commissioning role, including completions and commissioning of complex installations, to effectively lead, supervise, and resolve execution issues daily.
* Management, influence, and communication skills to establish and convey systems required for successful commissioning and turnover.
* Proven experience managing diverse technical, project, and operational personnel.
* Understanding of EPC, EPCM, Works Contractor Contracts concerning completions and commissioning.
* Fluency in English is mandatory.
Preferred qualifications
* Experience with procedures and workflows in project execution.
* Experience with Completions Management Systems (databases).
* Functional knowledge of all project discipline systems, design, and reporting processes.
* Good working knowledge of design review and reporting technologies.
* Languages such as French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans, and Zulu are considered advantageous.
