Who You Are We’re seeking a passionate, skilled, and confident practitioner with significant experience of working with children and families, who can undertake high-quality assessments and complete Child Impact Reports in accordance with national Pathfinder guidance. You are someone who can work directly with children, parents, and carers to understand their experiences, wishes, and feelings, effectively liaise with relevant agencies, and provide clear, evidence-based analysis to assist in decision-making. What the Job Involves You will be integral to the Private Law Pathfinder response, supporting families to resolve private law disputes in a child-focused and restorative manner. You will work closely with Cafcass, the Family Court, and other legal professionals to deliver an innovative approach that centers children’s voices in the decision-making process. Key responsibilities include: Completing Child Impact Reports under the Pathfinder model. Assessing the needs and wishes of children and exploring family dynamics. Providing clear, analytical recommendations to facilitate safe and sustainable family outcomes. Liaising with Cafcass, the Family Court, and partner agencies. Maintaining accurate and timely case records. Contributing to service learning and development in a reflective and supportive team environment. Skills Specialist knowledge of social work theories and practice. Detailed knowledge of current legislation related to children and families. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate to a wide range of people. Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Capability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in IT skills. Experience in assessment skills related to children and families. Liaison and negotiation skills with other agencies and service users.
