Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner - (Band 6 / 7)
Band 6 - Year one (must successfully complete Year 1 to progress)
Band 7 - Year Two & Three ( on successful progression through MSc modules and completion of end point assessment)
Fixed Term 3 Years - (Substantive Band 8a awarded upon successful completion of MSc Advanced Practice and core competencies)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner. The trainee advanced clinical practitioner role is a 3-year training programme which the post holder will study at post-graduate level to gain a master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice at an approved Higher Education Institute (HEI). In order to achieve qualification as an ACP, you must successfully achieve the completion of an end-point assessment.
The trainee ACP post is part subsided by National Health Service England (NHSE) and offers of employment is subject to:
1. Funding secured from NHSE
2. A place gained on an HEI accredited apprentice advanced practice course
3. NHS pre-employment checks
4. September 2024 & January 2025 intake (dependant on the clinical area)

Main duties of the job
Alongside academic studies, the trainee ACP is required to successfully complete advanced practice clinical core competencies. These competencies may be provided by the trust or national competencies depending on the area in which you work. Initial first year training may take place within the Acute Medicine clinical areas (Acute Assessment Unit & Ambulatory Care Unit) in order to support the trainee ACPs knowledge and skills development with peer support from experienced ACPs before moving to a speciality area.
Part of the trainee standard is a minimum of 30hours per week is required for clinical contract. Directed study time of hours per week will be allocated. This study time is also to be used to maintain compliance with mandatory training.

Essential
5. Registered with relevant professional body (NMC part 1, or HCPC allied health professional governing body. minimum 5 years.
6. Degree- level registration qualification or equivalent post-registration award.
7. Appropriate specialist level qualifications
8. Evidence of CPD
9. Life Support qualifications (BLS / ILS)
10. Relevant teaching qualification / evidenced experience
11. Non-medical prescribing or eligable to undertake the educational programme whilst training.
Desirable
12. ALS provider / instructor
13. Experience of working within acute / emergency medicine
14. Working towards a master's degree in advanced practice.
