Salary Range: Circa £70,000-£85,000 fte
Hours: Part time / full time - to be negotiated at interview
Location: Prince Henry's High School, Evesham, Worcestershire
Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer and Board of Trustees
Worcestershire Hills Trust is seeking to appoint an exceptional Chief Finance Officer to join the Trust Executive Team. Based at Prince Henry's High School in Evesham and working across all Trust schools, the CFO will provide strategic leadership for all aspects of financial management, governance, compliance, risk and resource planning. The successful candidate will ensure that the Trust's financial resources are managed effectively, efficiently and transparently in support of the Trust's educational objectives.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Board of Trustees, Headteachers and Senior Leaders, the CFO will play a pivotal role in supporting the Trust's long-term vision and ensuring that financial decision-making enables the highest possible outcomes for students across all Trust schools.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the successful candidate will:
•Lead the Trust's financial strategy and long-term financial planning
•Oversee annual budgets, management accounts and statutory reporting
•Ensure compliance with the Academy Trust Handbook, ESFA requirements and relevant financial regulations
•Lead on audit, risk management, procurement and financial governance
•Provide expert financial advice to Trustees, Committees and Executive Leaders
•Support organisational development, growth and strategic decision-making across the Trust
•Develop and lead high-performing finance teams and systems
The successful applicant will be a member of an appropriate professional financial body and possess:
ESSENTIAL
•Appropriate Chartered Management Accounting qualification (or equivalent)
•Significant experience of producing financial and management accounts and budgetary control
•In-depth knowledge and experience of financial and non-financial modelling
•Knowledge of legislation affecting salaries, pensions and employee benefits
•Proven experience of leading and developing teams
•Excellent analytical, organisational and strategic planning skills
•Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
DESIRABLE
•Experience of working within an Academy Trust, school or educational setting
•Experience of negotiating and managing contractual agreements
•Knowledge and understanding of the charity sector and Academy Trust governance
•Experience of supporting organisational growth and change management
The Trust's financial year runs from 1st September to 31st August. It is therefore expected that the post holder will be available to work during periods of the summer holiday, particularly during August. Specific arrangements will be agreed with the Chief Executive Officer.
