Travel expenses will be paid up to £500 Pay - Pay Rates are negotiable Job Description * NHS Orkney is seeking a highly skilled Locum Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join the team at The Balfour. * This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, providing advanced speech and language therapy services to adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders. * The successful candidate will have the chance to work both in hospital settings and within the community, including outpatient clinics and home visits. Key Responsibilities * Provide advanced speech and language therapy services to adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders. * Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans, focusing on dysphagia and communication support. * Deliver therapy across both hospital and community settings, ensuring high-quality care for patients. * Support family members and significant others, offering guidance and advice as needed. * Deliver training to healthcare staff across settings, ensuring consistent and effective care. Essential Requirements * SLT qualification recognised by RCSLT, leading to a licence to practice. * HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist. * RCSLT registration (desirable). * Extensive post-graduate experience in treating adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders. * Post-graduate qualifications and training in dysphagia. * Experience in providing dysphagia and communication support in hospital and community settings (including outpatient clinics and home visits). * Experience in delivering training and providing support to families/significant others
