About the Opportunity
As a Construction Site Manager, you will oversee the site delivery of construction projects from mobilization to customer handover. Leading the site team, you will ensure work aligns with project scope, quality standards, safety, budget, and timelines. You will manage customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and foster future project opportunities.
You should have experience managing subcontractors, working to project specifications, maintaining customer relations, and controlling site safety. You will work per the CDM Construction Phase Plan, communicating scope, quality, timelines, hazards, risks, and controls to site teams and subcontractors to ensure timely, high-standard, and budget-compliant work.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure health & safety compliance, including CDM regulations, safety rules, risk assessments, incident reporting, and policies.
* Act as escalation point for project delivery and planning issues.
* Manage projects over £1m, up to £15m, providing weekly progress reports.
* Identify efficiencies with contractors, suppliers, and partners to improve project and company profitability.
* Organize site setup and manage procurement of materials and consumables.
* Deliver excellent customer service by maintaining safety, cleanliness, and quality standards, and meeting outage times and dates.
* Work in all weather conditions to address daily challenges.
* Promote the company’s reputation through professional behavior and attitude.
* Stand in for the Project Manager as needed.
Who we are looking for
* Experienced in managing engineering-focused sites, coordinating resources, materials, and activities within budgets (essential).
* Skilled in project planning and short-term scheduling using Microsoft Office (essential).
* Holds a Construction Management NVQ or equivalent, or has completed an engineering apprenticeship (essential).
* Valid CSCS card and Site Management Safety Training Scheme certification (essential).
* Experience with Mechanical, Electrical, Gas, Water, and Fire safety systems (desirable).
* Experience with Low and High Voltage electrical systems (desirable).
* Excellent communication and numerical skills (essential).
* Valid full UK driving license (essential).
* Additional certifications like PASMA, IPAF, ECS, Confined Space (desirable).
* Experience working on or near roads, with NRSWA accreditation (desirable).
