Are you a strategic relationship-builder ready to lead on income generation that transforms the lives of young people? ​ We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager to drive our fundraising and external communications strategy, with a strong focus on corporate partnerships and major donor engagement. ​ At 1625 Independent People, young people are at the heart of everything we do. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in high-value fundraising or business development who’s ready to step into a senior role in a supportive, values-led organisation. ​ What you will be doing: Lead the development and implementation of our Fundraising and External Communications Strategies, with a focus on securing sustainable income through high-value partnerships and philanthropy. ​ Build and manage a robust pipeline of corporate and major donor prospects, aligned with our mission and growth goals. ​ Develop, pitch and negotiate tailored partnerships that deliver income, in-kind support, and engagement opportunities. ​ Personally steward a portfolio of high-value partners and donors to ensure long-term relationships and maximise lifetime value. ​ Line-manage and support a small team, creating a collaborative, high-performance culture with clear goals and development opportunities. ​ Act as a senior ambassador for 1625ip, overseeing and attending events, engaging with the media, and leading cross-sector partnership activity. ​ Oversee implementation of our External Communications Strategy, ensuring our brand voice is consistent and impactful across all channels. ​ Champion youth voice in fundraising and communications, working with the participation team to co-design campaigns and engagement opportunities. ​ Ensure all activity is underpinned by data, compliant with GDPR and ethical fundraising practices, and aligned with our psychologically informed approach. ​ What we’re looking for: ​ A proven track record of developing and delivering successful fundraising strategies, with a focus on securing income from corporate partners and major donors. ​ Experience of meeting or exceeding income targets in a fundraising or business development role. ​ Demonstrable experience of building, managing and growing strategic partnerships that deliver income, pro bono support, or brand value. ​ Strong knowledge of fundraising regulations, GDPR, and best practices in donor stewardship and ethical fundraising. ​ Experience in leading and managing a team, including setting objectives and supporting professional development. ​ A sound understanding of the charity sector. ​ Experience in the creation and delivery of external communications strategies, with the ability to demonstrate their impact. ​ An understanding of and ability to work within safeguarding, confidentiality, and equal opportunities frameworks, particularly when working with children and young people. ​ A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, aligned with our commitment to youth voice, social justice, and empowerment. ​ Why join us? ​ A welcoming, supportive team where your voice matters. ​ A chance to develop your fundraising career in a high-impact organisation. ​ Hybrid and flexible working options. ​ Generous annual leave, excellent training opportunities, and wellbeing support. ​ We are striving to better represent the young people we support and therefore are particularly keen to increase applications from minoritized ethnic groups. Who are we? We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the Southwest, working with over 1,500 young people. At 1625 we are driven by Social Justice and Passion: we strive to do something that matters and take pride in seeing the results of our work in social outcomes and improving young people’s lives. You will be in the Fundraising, Partnerships and Communications Team and your line manager will be our Partnership Director. At 1625 we are led by our Competency Development Framework. This connects our values to our behaviours in everything we do and gives us the tools to develop. The framework ensures our recruitment is better informed, applications and interviews are behaviourally based, and job profiles are developed on the ‘how’ of a job. Contract details ​ Hours per week: 37.5 ​ Contract type: Permanent ​ Pay: £40,476-£43,693 per annum. NOTE: This is the current salary and does not include the NJC pay award that is currently pending. The Government / National Employers have made a pay offer of a 3.2% pay increase. Once the pay offer is finalised this will be backdated to the employment start date. ​ The location: Kingsley Hall.
