The Project Mobilisation Engineer is to support in planning, coordination and technical execution of the vessel/equipment mobilisations for offshore cable lay, trenching and installation projects. The role plays a critical part in ensuring all technical, logistical, and HSEQ elements of mobilisation are managed efficiently and safely.
Key Areas of Responsibility
* Support the development of mobilisation plans, schedules and method statements in line with project requirements.
* Coordinate with engineering, logistics, procurement and vessel teams to ensure timely readiness of equipment and materials.
* Prepare and review mobilisation drawings, deck layouts, lift plans and installation procedures.
* Attend mobilisation and demobilisation activities on-site, including offshore or in shipyards, as required.
* Ensure all mobilisation activities comply with internal and client HSEQ standards.
* Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to post-mobilisation reporting and lessons learned.
* Support risk assessments, toolbox talks and interface meetings before and during mobilisation phases.
Key Tasks
* Develop detailed mobilisation plans and schedules aligned with project milestones.
* Coordinate mobilisation sequences and logistics with internal teams and subcontractors.
Technical Coordination
* Prepare and review deck layouts, rigging plans, service plans, lift plans and equipment integration drawings.
* Ensure all equipment is fit-for-purpose, certified and ready for installation.
* Oversee sea fastening operations and manage onsite fabrication teams.
Documentation & Procedures
* Assist in drafting mobilisation procedures, method statements, lift plans and checklists.
* Maintain an accurate record of mobilisation activities, updates and lessons learned.
Interface Management
* Act as a point of contact between engineering, logistics, operations and vessel crews.
* Participate in interface meetings to ensure alignment across departments.
On-site Support
* Attend and supervise mobilisations at fabrication yards, ports or onboard vessels.
* Provide hands-on support during equipment loading, integration and testing.
HSEQ Compliance
* Ensure all mobilisation activities adhere to HSEQ standards and risk assessments.
* Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks and audits.
* Support demobilisation and debrief processes.
* Contribute to post-mobilisation reports and project close-out documentation.

* Compliance rate with HSEQ standards.
* Accuracy of mobilisation documentation.
* Equipment readiness and certification compliance (%).
* Number of mobilisation changes / rework required.
* On-site attendance and responsiveness.
* Lessons learned implementation rate.

Education and Qualifications Specific to Role
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering – preferably Mechanical, Marine, Civil, Electrical or related field.
* Equivalent vocational or technical qualifications with relevant experience may be considered.
Desirable Qualifications or Equivalent Experience
* OPITO-approved Rigging and Lifting (Stage 1 or higher).
* GWO (Global Wind Organisation) training for offshore wind projects.
* HSE Offshore Construction Safety Training.
* Manual Handling, Working at Height, or Confined Space Awareness.
* AutoCAD.
Demonstrable Experience Specific to Role
* Previous experience in offshore engineering, vessel mobilisation, marine operations or similar project engineering roles.
* Familiar with cable lay and installation projects is highly advantageous.
