Cynon Taf is a small organisation with big ambition. We have created a brand new post to support our staff and contractors in working safely and efficiently. Our new Health, Safety and Facilities Officer will work closely with teams across the organisation to ensure that our approach to workplace health and safety is robust and that we maintain the highest level of compliance with all legislation. If you are someone with at least 5 years’ experience in health and safety and hold the NEBOSH General Certificate, we would love to hear from you. Cynon Taf is a small organisation so this role will cover a diverse range of functions across health, safety and facilities management, giving you the opportunity to grow and develop in all areas of work that we undertake. Key Responsibilities -Develop and monitor a full suite of processes, policies and systems to ensure effective management of employer health and safety for the group. -Provide effective monitoring of operation of group offices and other facilities, including inspection, budget supervision and procurement/ordering. -Support and contribute to team objectives, learning, and wellbeing as appropriate. -Use data, insights, and feedback to identify and implement service improvements. -Actively support contribute to continuous improvement and service development, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to improving services, processes, and outcomes in a dynamic working environment. -Ensure accurate reporting to managers on performance, risks, and outcomes. -Promote health and safety, safeguarding, and compliance with organisational policies. -Uphold the Association’s values: Committed, Respectful, Integrity -Contribute to a positive team environment and achievement of organisational goals. Qualifications -NEBOSH General Certificate. Experience -Experience in a health & safety or facilities role, ideally within social housing, property management, or a similar environment for a minimum of 5 years. Knowledge -Knowledge of H&S legislation including HSAWA, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) RIDDOR, COSHH, and other associated regulations. Skills & Abilities -Excellent analytical, reporting, and IT skills (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and housing systems). -Strong customer focus, communication, and collaboration abilities. Other -Valid full driving license and daily access to a vehicle. -Commitment to organisational values.
