About The Role
We are looking for a curious, driven Price & Promotions Consultant to join dunnhumby on a fixed-term basis. In this role, you’ll help shape Tesco’s pricing and promotions strategy — turning data into decisions that influence what millions of customers see on shelves every day. This is a 12 month fixed term contract position.
You’ll work closely with Tesco’s Planning, Trade, and Commercial teams to translate insights into practical actions that improve pricing and promotions effectiveness. This hands-on role offers the chance to fast-track your consulting career, gain a deep understanding of retail operations, and build hands-on experience in customer-focused analytics. You’ll be part of a collaborative team where your work directly drives measurable business impact.
Key Accountabilities
* Consulting & Strategy: Work closely with Tesco’s Commercial and Trade & Strategy teams to deliver the Price & Promotions roadmap.
* Consulting & Strategy: Contribute to strategic and tactical projects that shape Tesco’s response to a fast-changing retail environment.
* Consulting & Strategy: Take a hands-on role in rolling out and embedding new pricing and promotions tools and processes, helping teams make smarter day-to-day decisions.
Insight & Measurement
* Analyse dunnhumby data to create clear, actionable insights on how pricing and promotions impact customers and the business.
* Turn analysis into simple, compelling stories and recommendations that influence Tesco decisions.
* Support tracking and reporting of the impact and value delivered by our pricing and promotions activity.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Build strong, collaborative relationships across Tesco and dunnhumby, connecting commercial priorities with technical expertise.
* Partner with multiple teams to continuously improve tools, processes, and ways of working.
* Gain broad exposure to retail pricing and promotions, developing skills across consulting, analytics, and project delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
* Curious and analytical mindset, able to interpret data and turn it into clear insights.
* Experience or strong interest in retail, pricing, or promotions, ideally with exposure to a data-driven environment.
* Basic understanding of retail pricing and promotions, preferably within the UK grocery sector.
* Good communication skills and confidence collaborating effectively across teams.
* Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and learning from colleagues in Product, Analytics, and Commercial areas.
* Eager to learn new tools and processes; familiarity with dunnhumby tools is a plus.
* Enthusiasm for hands-on problem solving and contributing to meaningful business outcomes
