Job Description
Field Service Engineer located on the Lindsay Oil Refinery site. The role is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (9am-5pm). Salary between £30,000 to £32,000 plus a company car.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Acts as the local technical consultant and liaison with customer management and customer representatives at site.
2. Provides service and support at site.
3. Coordinates functions with Area Field Services Lead/Management/Senior FSRs.
4. Performs water analysis and/or collects samples for preparation, labelling, and shipment to designated laboratory for analysis.
5. Completes and distributes on-site reports based on work carried out.
6. Troubleshoots and repairs pumps, instruments, and control panels.
7. Calibrates instrumentation (pH, Conductivity, flow, ORP).
8. Conducts preventative maintenance on water treatment plant (UF, RO, EDI, Pumps/motors), chemical feed pumps, controllers, and instrumentation.
9. Maintains inventory of spare parts and ensures adequate supply through the ordering system.
10. Relays customer feedback to relevant departments.
11. Recommends procedural and policy improvements.
12. Participates in on-call duties for the site (1 week in 4).
13. Remains on call-out duty as required by the UKIN team schedule.
14. Conducts training for customers and personnel on safe operation of BOO/Mobile equipment.
15. Trains company trainees in technical functions related to the position.
16. Qualifications in a suitable Science, Engineering, or technical discipline preferred, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
17. Mechanical maintenance experience from apprenticeships or site experience is also acceptable.
18. Desirable: A Level or equivalent in Chemistry or related knowledge.
Skills & Experience
1. Essential: Water treatment equipment operation and maintenance, mechanical maintenance experience, full UK driving license.
2. Desirable: Experience working in industrial environments, knowledge of safe systems of work (RAMS, permits).
