The Role We are looking for an experienced Transport / Yard Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day running of our yard and delivery operations. You’ll lead a team of drivers and yard staff, ensure safe and efficient operations, and help deliver excellent service to our customers. Key Responsibilities Manage all yard operations (goods in/out, stock rotation, housekeeping) Schedule and oversee deliveries to ensure on‑time, efficient service Supervise, motivate, and support drivers and yard staff Ensure high standards of health & safety at all times Maintain vehicle compliance (servicing, inspections, legal checks) Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams Ensure branch operations follow company policies and procedures What We’re Looking For Previous experience in a similar role within a builders merchant or construction supply environment Strong leadership and people management skills Excellent organisation and communication skills Good knowledge of transport legislation and vehicle compliance Forklift licence (desirable, not essential) Working Hours Week 1 Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 17:00 Week 2 Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 17:00 Saturday: 08:00 – 12:00 What We Offer Competitive salary plus overtime opportunities Pension scheme and paid holidays Supportive team and positive working environment Training and career development opportunities Staff discount on building materials Bonus schemes Employee Assistance Programme Perks Membership Apply Now If you’re looking for a hands‑on management role with a respected builders merchant, we’d love to hear from you.
