Primary Teaching Assistant – Full Time (SEND / 1:1 EHCP Support)
Plymouth
£90–£95 per day
Start: January 2025
Are you an experienced Primary Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new role where you can truly make a difference? We are seeking a confident, skilled and compassionate TA to join a welcoming primary school in Plymouth from January 2025, providing dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with SEND and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This is a full-time, long-term position, ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and thrives in a role where each day brings fresh purpose.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, the SENCo and wider support team to ensure pupils with specific needs are fully included, engaged and supported in their learning. You will deliver targeted 1:1 assistance, help adapt resources, break down classroom tasks and implement strategies that enable children to progress both academically and emotionally. This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who has already worked within SEND or has substantial experience supporting children with additional needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health needs.
We are looking for someone who is calm, patient, resilient and able to build strong, trusting relationships with children who may require consistent reassurance and structured support. A solid understanding of EHCP targets, progress tracking and behaviour strategies is essential. The role will also involve working collaboratively with teachers, feeding back regularly, and contributing to meetings and planning where required.
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school
A strong background supporting pupils with SEND, ideally on a 1:1 basis
Experience working with EHCPs and personalised learning programmes
Excellent communication skills and a proactive, positive approach
Confidence adapting activities to meet individual needs
A genuine commitment to helping children achieve their potential
In return, we offer:
A warm, supportive and inclusive school environment
Full-time work with long-term consistency and potential for progression
Competitive daily pay of £90–£95
Access to ongoing training and professional development
The chance to make a meaningful difference every single day
If you are an experienced TA who is dedicated, enthusiastic and driven to support children with additional needs, we would love to hear from you. This January start offers the perfect opportunity to take on a fulfilling, stable role within a caring Plymouth primary school that truly values your experience and commitment.
