Location – Nottingham - Hybrid
Type: Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £90,868 with potential to rise to £106,904 over 3 years

The Head of Programme Business Design is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic design and integration of future‑state business operations across NHS Supply Chain’s transformation programme.
This role ensures that business processes, capabilities, and clinical requirements are fully aligned with programme outcomes and the organisation’s strategic direction. Leading a multidisciplinary team—including Business Architects, Business Analysts, and Clinical Leads—the postholder will work closely with Value Stream Leads and stakeholder engagement functions to drive coherent, enterprise‑wide transformation.

* Develop and maintain a programme‑wide business design framework and governance model.
* Ensure alignment of design activities with strategic programme objectives and NHS Supply Chain’s operating model.
* Provide direction and leadership to the Business Design team, including architects, analysts, and clinical integration leads.
* Foster a collaborative and high‑performance culture focused on innovation and delivery.
* Support professional development through coaching and mentoring.
* Oversee the development of integrated capability models and process maps.
* Conduct gap analyses and readiness assessments to inform design decisions.
* Collaborate with change management and transformation teams to ensure successful adoption.
* Champion cultural and behavioural change aligned with new ways of working.
* Lead the stakeholder engagement strategy in collaboration with the Stakeholder Engagement & Integration Manager.
