Aldine House, a Secure Children's Home in Sheffield, is seeking an empathetic and resilient fulltime Learning Coordinator to support and inspire young people in our care.
Aldine House is licensed to provide care and education for up to ten young people with significant challenges, in addition to care and therapeutic intervention.
At Aldine House, we provide a nurturing, safe, secure environment where every young person can grow and thrive. As part of our team, you'll play a vital role in shaping brighter futures while working in a collaborative and supportive setting.
Your Role Will Include:
1. Designing creative and educational activities tailored to our young people's interests and needs.
2. Plan and lead engaging group sessions on a variety of subjects to encourage learning and personal growth.
3. Plan and deliver creative and meaningful activities during school holidays that promote new skills and confidence.
4. Plan and lead an area of the education curriculum, liaising with the education team.
5. Support the education team during the school day, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
6. Working closely with our supportive team to create a safe, enriching environment.
7. Use your patience and expertise to help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour, fostering trust and understanding.

9. Enthusiasm, empathy, and the ability to inspire and connect with children.
10. Strong organisational skills and creativity.
11. Experience working with children and young people, especially those with complex needs.
12. Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
As an officer of Sheffield City Council you will adhere to and exceed the standards outlined in the Code of Conduct. Sheffield City Council requires that new staff in our service undergo an enhanced DBS check along with other safeguarding checks.
