Supply Desk is delighted to partner with a welcoming primary school in Watford, known for its inclusive ethos and supportive learning environment. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis starting April 2026.
Role Overview
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support the learning and development of pupils. Your role will be key in helping children build confidence, develop essential skills, and reach their full academic potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to pupils’ learning needs
* Assist with classroom organisation and encourage positive behaviour
* Adapt learning materials and activities to suit different abilities
* Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and classroom tasks
* Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
* Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
* Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing
Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting
* Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning
* Confidence in managing classroom routines and behaviour
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Understanding of inclusive education and safeguarding practices
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
