An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Joint Protective Services, Specialist Operations for a Police Vehicle Examiner.
Applications are invited from experienced automotive engineers for this unique and rare opportunity.
As a Police Vehicle Examiner, you will work in a small team of specialist Police Vehicle Examiners covering Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire. Your working base will be at Cambridgeshire Constabulary Headquarters, but you will be expected to travel across these forces.
You will be responsible for conducting mechanical inspections and producing detailed written reports on a wide range of mechanically propelled vehicles involved in serious collisions. You will also inspect suspected stolen vehicles to confirm their true identity.
You may be required to present your findings in criminal court proceedings, and training will be provided to support this.
