JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Instrument Designer to work on a PAYE/Fixed Term Staff contract. This role will be based in our Clients' offices in Aberdeen, with hybrid working required 3 days per week. Extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry is essential. Occasional offshore trips will be required.
Contributes to engineering excellence by providing the link between engineering design theory and practical application, translating critical design concepts into workable plans for tangible end-products.
* Prepares engineering drawings in their discipline area from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
* Creates designs and sketches detailed plans for projects in commercial, industrial, civil sectors, and for plant and manufactured products and systems.
* Plans and executes technical assignments of significant variety and complexity, capable of handling diverse procedures and techniques.
* Undertakes technical assignments integral to ongoing engineering programs.
* Prepares mechanical or digital drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and models of various products or structures using CAD/CADD software.
Qualifications:
* BSc, BEng, or equivalent professional qualification, or HND with relevant experience.
* Valid offshore certifications and willingness to work offshore.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Thorough understanding of materials and methods used in the discipline.
* Knowledge of engineering principles and practices, with diversified experience in the field.
* Ability to interpret engineering standards, piping specifications, P&IDs, and line lists.
* Technically oriented, mechanically inclined, proficient in mathematics, and skilled at translating concepts into practical project plans.
* Proficient in CAD/CADD software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
