The former country estate, The Langley is a luxury hotel and spa in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside. The hotel has 41 exquisite rooms and suites with the height of sophistication and refinement.
The Langley Hotel opened its doors on 1st June 2019, following an extensive six-year renovation. Working alongside the award-winning Dennis Irvine Studio, the multi-million-pound renovation has transformed the historic Grade II-listed Langley Park House from a dilapidated former private home into a majestic countryside icon, and a hotel that encompasses the modern sensibilities and aspirations of the modern traveller.
The Role
This is a position of genuine responsibility. As Night Manager, you will be the most senior leader on property during overnight hours. You will own the guest experience, lead the night team with confidence and composure, and ensure that operations run seamlessly.
Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you will work closely with all departments to uphold service standards befitting a Luxury Collection property, acting swiftly and decisively in everything from complex guest situations to operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Leadership
Manage and supervise all hotel operations and staff activity throughout the overnight shift, serving as the senior decision maker on property
Conduct thorough inspections of all areas to identify and resolve maintenance, safety, or presentation concerns
Enforce hotel policies and procedures with authority, consistency, and sound judgement
Prepare detailed handover reports covering daily activity, incidents, and guest feedback
Oversee all technology and IT systems, including Opera PMS, ensuring accurate and efficient use throughout the shift
Undertake Duty Management responsibilities as required
Complete all required training, including first aid and health and safety
Guest Experience
Act as the primary point of contact for all in-house and external guest queries, handling every interaction with warmth, professionalism, and care
Oversee and assist with check-in and check-out procedures to ensure a seamless arrival and departure experience
Proactively manage the lobby environment to maintain the highest standards of presentation and atmosphere
Promote hotel amenities, services, and special offers to enhance the guest experience
Ensure all guest feedback is acknowledged and resolved promptly and thoroughly
Team & Communication
Provide active leadership, support, and guidance to all night team members throughout the shift
Liaise effectively with all hotel departments, ensuring clear, timely, and accurate communication across the property
Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and genuine hospitality among the overnight team
Administration & Finance
Manage cash handling and float administration with accuracy and full accountability
Complete all relevant Front Office administrative tasks in a timely and thorough manner
About You
You are an experienced hospitality professional with a strong track record in a supervisory or management role, ideally within a luxury hotel environment. You lead by example, communicate with clarity and confidence, and remain calm and solutions focused under pressure.
You bring with you a natural warmth and a genuine passion for exceptional service, qualities that are as important to us as your operational expertise. You are highly organised, meticulous in your approach, and understand the particular demands and rewards of overnight hotel leadership.
You will also have:
Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within hotels or wider hospitality
Hands on experience with Opera PMS or a comparable property management system
Excellent written and spoken English, with strong communication skills at all levels
A demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team
High attention to detail and a consistently guest centric mindset
Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays
