Job Description
As the Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
3. Prepare and sign off Accountant's Reports in accordance with CMP scheme requirements.
4. Design and refine the internal process for delivering Accountant's Reports
5. Utilise purpose-built tools and AI-supported workflows to streamline audit preparation and reporting, allowing more time for expert analysis and less for manual admin.
6. Conduct remote audits of client accounting records through online submissions and virtual meetings (Zoom/Teams) - with no travel required.
7. Review and evaluate client bank reconciliations, client money handling practices, and trust account controls to ensure compliance with scheme standards.
8. Support and guide clients through the CMP audit process, translating technical requirements into clear, practical advice.
9. Assess the demand for additional outsourcing services including statutory accounts, year-end financial statements, management reporting, payroll, and bookkeeping when needed.
10. Support wider finance operations as needed including bookkeeping, payroll, management reporting, and year-end accounts - particularly during the initial build phase of the Accountant's Report function, with the view to recruiting additional resource as demand grows.
11. Collaborate across teams, presenting findings and recommendations clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Accountant should have:
12. A recognised qualification in accounting or finance - ACA/ACCA
13. A valid practising certificate, or the ability to secure one (ACA/ACCA Qualified)
14. Proven experience in accounting and financial management.
15. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
16. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
17. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
18. The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
19. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
