Develop and agree on procurement strategies for assigned areas and lead the implementation of plans.
Promote cross-functional collaboration to ensure full engagement and buy-in to contracting strategies.
Support the team in supplier assessment and due diligence activities to ensure the effective selection of suppliers that meet business needs.
Manage sub-contract changes effectively.
Review supplier performance against quality, cost, and delivery metrics continuously to ensure requirements are met, secure improvements, and inform future supply chain strategies.
Develop and maintain supplier relationships and undertake supplier development activities in liaison with the Supply Chain strategy team and Supplier Quality Assurance.
Maintain strong relationships with internal customers to optimize engagement and communication.
Understanding of negotiation and supplier management techniques.
Knowledge of in-scope products/services to ensure requirements are met, with respect to safety and environmental management.
Build understanding of suppliers' operations and work with them to optimize their service to the business.
Understanding of the commercial aspects of contracts (with support).
Desirable: Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification or equivalent.
