We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our mental health team at HMP Gartree. HMP Gartree is a category B prison based in Market Harborough, housing around 650 patients. You will be working closely with the multi-disciplinary team, including GPs and ACPs, to deliver psychiatric support to adult males mainly aged 28-50, most of whom have complex mental health and historic trauma needs.
Hours
20 hours per week across 2.5 days. Rolling rota options are available (2 days one week, 3 the next) with flexibility on which days are worked (Monday to Friday). A full-time role is also available if working across HMP Stocken and HMP Gartree or HMP Five Wells.
Salary
20 hours per week; annual salary up to £180,000 per annum FTE depending on experience.

Responsibilities
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite
* Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision
* Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi-professional complex case reviews

Qualifications
* Registered professional with current GMC registration
* Specialist Registration in General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
* Approved under section 12(2) of the MHS 1983
* Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
* Up-to-date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PD
* Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation
