Salary: £34,391 - £44,558 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
Hours per week: 37
Weeks per annum: 52
Working pattern: Monday – Thursday 7.5 hours, Friday 7 hours

We are recruiting for an inspirational Community Learning Lecturer, with specific responsibility for Family Learning, within the Oxfordshire Adult Learning (OAL) faculty. OAL is a large, award‑winning faculty of Abingdon and Witney College offering a wide range of adult learning courses including qualification‑based courses, leisure learning courses and working extensively with community partners across Oxfordshire. This unique and highly rewarding opportunity allows you to make a real difference by supporting families to grow in confidence, develop essential skills and foster a lifelong love of learning together.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, high‑quality teaching on our Family Learning and Community Learning provision.
* Support, motivate, and inspire learners to achieve their full potential.
* Contribute to curriculum development within the Oxfordshire Adult Learning faculty.
* Work collaboratively within a passionate and experienced team.
* Participate in employer and community engagement activities to enhance students’ employability.
* Maintain accurate records in line with College requirements.
Essential Criteria
* Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
* Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, AET).
* English and maths at Level 2 or above.
* Ability to relate to diverse learner groups.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Criteria
* Teaching experience in a Primary School setting.
* Previous teaching experience with adults.

Any successful candidate will be required to complete a structured training pathway, unless they already hold the relevant qualifications. This includes a two‑week teacher induction, followed by the Award in Education and Training (AET), and then the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (LST) apprenticeship. There is also the option to pursue Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) at a later stage.
