Graduate Sports Assistant (Hockey)
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £28,801 per annum (Pro Rata) (£36,528 per annum FTE)

The Role
As a member of support staff, the Graduate Sports Assistants' ultimate line manager is the Bursar, although day-to-day responsibility will be to the Director of Sport via the Head of Hockey.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivery of the school's boys and girls hockey programme across ages, abilities, and indoor and outdoor teams.
* Assisting with the delivery of one of the school's summer sports: athletics, cricket, and/or tennis.
* Taking responsibility for a sports team, including weekend fixtures in each term, as required.
* Assisting the PE and Games department with administrative tasks such as organising equipment, selecting team sheets, meeting and greeting opposition teams, helping to organise major sports events, and setting up displays.
* Running or assisting with Co-Curricular activities such as Primary School Hockey Club.
* Developing and sharing new teaching and learning resources.
* Maintaining professional skills through INSET and our Professional Development programme.
* Supporting the use of VEO and video analysis as directed by the Head of Hockey.
* Producing displays to create an attractive learning environment in the department.
* Participating in the pastoral life of the children, working with form teachers, Heads of Year, and Section Heads.
* Promoting the progress and well-being of pupils, participating in reward and sanction processes, and implementing the School's Behaviour and Discipline policy.
* Participating in training with a pastoral focus, and adhering to the School Policy on Safeguarding and Child Protection.
Skills And Qualifications
* Ability to work independently, efficiently, and quickly.
* Excellent time management, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Up-to-date knowledge regarding safeguarding and working with children and young people.
* Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a confident and positive manner.
* Empathy towards pupils, staff, and the school community.
* Ability to collaborate and support colleagues, specialists, and parents.
* Strong commitment to personal and professional development.
* ICT proficiency.
* A degree.
Desirable
* A relevant higher-level qualification, sports coaching Level 2 or above, or vocational training applicable to supporting pupil development.
