Your workstyle in this role will require you to work from a fixed workplace but involve travel between schools.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and highly committed musical individual to join our team as a Peripatetic Music Curriculum Teacher in a temporary role to cover a maternity leave. Cerdd NPT Music Service is a very successful and thriving music service within the county of Neath Port Talbot. The service provides instrumental, vocal and curriculum provision to all schools within the county. We are also a part of the National Music Service for Wales. We are an enthusiastic team of teachers delivering high class musical lessons and experiences for pupils in our schools.
As a Peripatetic Music Curriculum Teacher (covering Maternity Leave), you will be assigned a set of primary schools to visit weekly to deliver music curriculum lessons. The role is extremely varied and will offer you the opportunity to prepare exciting music lessons that will motivate pupils and expand their musical knowledge and allow you to experience teaching a range of different age groups.
Your daily routine will consist of visiting the set schools and teaching music curriculum to assigned classes. This may also involve teaching whole class/school singing. You will be responsible for preparing music lessons for your given classes in line with the New Curriculum for Wales and linking into class concepts/themes as discussed with the class teachers in the school. You will use given templates (provided by the Music Service) to record your planning.

•experience of high-quality full class teaching of music curriculum/vocal at primary school level
•confidence at singing
•enthusiasm

•a commitment and passion for teaching music
•excellent communication skills
•the ability to plan music lessons in line with the new Curriculum for Wales which motivate and engage pupils
•the ability to liaise professionally with school-based staff
•good I.T. skills (Word and Excel)
The post requires (qualification):
•a Music Degree BA or BMus (desirable)
•Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (desirable) ensuring adherence to professional teaching standards and regulations
•Possession of a full driving licence and access to transport
