Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Cover Supervisor for secondary schools in Durham ahead of September 2026. You'll be working within an established team, stepping into classrooms across a range of subjects and year groups, and making sure students stay focused and on task in a teacher's absence. It's a role that demands presence, reliability, and the ability to build quick rapport with young people — and it's one that opens doors into education for those looking to develop their career further down the line. The day to day: Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4 and delivering pre-set work Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining high expectations Following school procedures and providing brief feedback to staff at the end of each lesson Supporting the wider school team and contributing to a positive learning environment Building familiarity with students and staff across the school over time You'll be someone who: Has experience working with secondary school aged young people, or holds a degree in any discipline Can walk into a classroom with confidence and command respect without confrontation Is reliable, adaptable, and professional in approach Communicates clearly and works well as part of a wider team Holds or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service Everything Teaching Personnel brings to the table: Competitive daily rates Weekly pay via PAYE Dedicated consultant support Free CPD and development opportunities A genuine pathway into teaching assistant, LSA, or teacher training roles Contract: Long-term | Start: September 2026 | Location: Durham secondary schools Send your CV or call.
