Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team. The role involves completing a full range of maintenance activities across the installed asset base, rapidly diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and basic control & instrumentation faults. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising downtime, maintaining equipment reliability, and supporting the launch and commissioning of new or refurbished machinery.
Key Areas of Responsibility :
Day-to-day upkeep, maintenance, and servicing of production equipment
Rapid response to breakdowns to minimise downtime
Supporting implementation, commissioning, and launch of new or refurbished equipment
Diagnosing equipment faults and executing repairs in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems
Programming fault finding, modifications, and troubleshooting via PLCs
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and ensuring schedules are adhered to
Reading and interpreting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings
Implementing quality countermeasures and ensuring equipment operates to specification
Participating in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
Supporting 5S and maintaining an organised, safe, and efficient work environment
Any other duties of a similar nature or level of responsibility
Required Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Level 3 in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Understanding of engineering principles and technical drawings
Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
Strong practical skills with experience maintaining production equipment
Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Good numeracy and analytical skills
BTEC HNC Electrical or equivalent
Experience with PLC programming and fault diagnosis
Previous experience in a precision engineering or CNC manufacturing environment
Knowledge of quality systems (AS9100) and safety-critical processes
