Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and values-driven Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead Northamptonshire Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (NAB) into its next chapter of service and growth. As one of Northamptonshire's longest-established charities, NAB supports blind and visually impaired people to live life to the full.
The ideal candidate will bring proven senior leadership experience, with a strong ability to inspire teams, develop strategic plans, and manage resources effectively in a charity or purpose-led environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of a highly respected organisation, working closely with a dedicated Board of Trustees, talented staff, volunteers, and a passionate local community.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver NAB's long-term strategy in partnership with the Board of Trustees.
* Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the charity, ensuring services are inclusive, safe, and person-centred.
* Provide inspirational leadership to staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
* Oversee finance and budgeting processes in collaboration with external finance consultants, ensuring long-term sustainability and compliance.
* Lead income generation efforts, including fundraising, grants, partnerships, and community engagement.
* Act as NAB's public ambassador, representing the charity in local, regional and national forums.
* Ensure compliance with legal, safeguarding, governance and regulatory responsibilities.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with service users, funders, commissioners and partner organisations.
* Promote NAB's values and advocate for the rights and needs of people with sight loss.
Requirements
* Proven leadership experience at senior management level, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
* Experience in strategic planning, organisational development, and leading change.
* Strong financial acumen and understanding of budget management and reporting.
* Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and build an inclusive workplace culture.
* Experience of income generation and managing stakeholder relationships.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire.
* Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, and to the mission of supporting blind and partially sighted people.
Desirable:
* Experience working in disability services, advocacy or sight loss sector.
* Understanding of charity governance and working with a Board of Trustees.
