E&I Engineer
6 Month Contract

Rates up to £47.50 (Umbrella)
Nottingam based. Hybrid working available with minimum 3 days per week in the office. Can also be based from Norwich office.
We are currently looking for an E&I Engineer for our client for a 6 month contract. This will suit a mid level engineer who is focussed on hands-on execution and project delivery rather than Project Management.
The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys practical engineering tasks and is actively involved in hands-on, Instrumentation and Control (Safe Area and ATEX zoned) and Electrical Power and Control Design Documentation, like detailed drawing design, Comfortable with hazardous area compliance and functional safety basics (SIL requirements), rather than primarily overseeing projects.
Must-Have Skills and Responsibilities:
Instrumentation and Control (Safe Area and ATEX zoned)
Electrical Power and Control Design Documentation, including:
Load Analysis and Discrimination
Load Schedules, Cable Schedules
Functional Design Specification / Control Philosophy
Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
Cause and Effect Diagrams
Instrument & I/O Lists
Equipment Data Sheets
Functional Safety Experience (LOPA, SIL Analysis, IEC 61508 / 61511)
Ability to produce and update:
Control Philosophy Narrative
Network Topology and Network Architecture (Cybersecurity considerations)
Cause and Effect Diagrams
Single Line Diagrams
PLC coding using Siemens TIA Portal and other comparable systems
EC\&I deliverables: RFQs, BOM preparation
AutoCAD Electrical for markup and updates (Functional Electrical Schematics, Panel Layout Drawings, P\&ID, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Drawings, Wiring & Termination Drawings)
Panel design/build and wiring
Cable sizing and circuit protection calculations
FAT/SAT activities
Comfortable with hazardous area compliance and functional safety basics (SIL requirements)
