About the role
We are looking for an experienced team leader to develop and grow the Indirect Procurement Team. The role requires driving supplier improvement, identifying and managing commercial risk, and collaborating with the Indirect Commodity and Sourcing Manager to drive performance improvements through collaborative process improvement, metric/scorecard management, and strategy development.
Skills And Experience – Essential
* Experience in Supply Chain, Subcontract Management, Procurement, Commodity and/or related field
* Experience managing a team
* Related degree/MCIPS/BA/MBA or equivalent
* Ability to manage a medium sized team focused on policy and strategy implementation, along with operational plans and measurable contribution to sub‑function results
* Proactive, flexible and positive attitude
* Ability to lead effectively in a multi‑functional team
* Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to brief at mid/senior level
* Knowledge of import/export legislation and logistical requirements
* Administration of delivery/acceptance/invoicing of goods and services
* Experience in or exposure to negotiating medium/high complexity non‑standard agreements
* Experience of problem solving and dispute resolution at senior level
* Experience or knowledge of MRP, SAP and purchase order placement/material receipt processes
* Experience of developing and managing subcontractor relationship management and collaborative working
* Experience of developing supplier improvement strategies
* Experience working with complex international suppliers/programmes
Responsibilities
* Develop the Indirect Procurement Team through coaching, skills gap analysis and mentoring
* Liaise with peers from other disciplines, businesses and the Functional SLT
* Source, negotiate, award and document purchases for indirect services and supplies
* Perform or support cost and price analysis, develop negotiation strategies, and lead negotiations to create value for money outcomes
* Support early supplier identification and engagement for new business opportunities
* Utilise source selection techniques (best value, total cost of ownership, etc.), perform cost analyses and conduct negotiations, identifying supplier risks
* Provide risk and opportunity analysis for introduction of new suppliers to mitigate risks with regard to early supplier decisions
* Ensure that requirements (prime contract, quality, terms and conditions) are properly communicated to suppliers
* Manage supplier performance relative to cost, schedule and quality requirements
* Interface with internal and supplier cross‑functional organisations
* Assist in the development of tenders and agreements
* Execute to customer requirements including government regulations, public law and Raytheon policies and procedures
* Work with suppliers and stakeholders to achieve collaborative partnering and strategic relationship management to deliver value for the organisation
* Contribute to the creation of business capture strategies by recommending strategic choices to improve the organisation’s short‑ and long‑term performance
* Actively promote the contributions that the function can make to achieving corporate objectives across the organisation, with stakeholders and with the supply chain
* Continuously assess and promote sustainable and responsible procurement, including social, cultural and diversity values in the organisation and throughout the supply chain
* Facilitate relationships between functional organisations and suppliers
* Utilise project management skills and techniques when managing suppliers
* Initiate and participate in supplier assessments and development activities
* Produce support data or business cases/briefing materials for management reviews
* Participate or lead supplier assessments and supplier development activity teams, including administration of appropriate due diligence activity
