Description Grade 6- £39276- £42771pa About the Role As a Youth Justice Service Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in preventing youth offending, safeguarding children, and supporting positive outcomes for young people and their families. You’ll manage a varied caseload, delivering effective interventions and restorative justice approaches, while working closely with victims, families, and multi-agency partners. This is an opportunity to make a real difference by helping young people turn their lives around and contribute positively to their communities. Key Responsibilities Hold a caseload and deliver interventions that support desistance and strengthen families. Work with victims and implement restorative justice and reparation activities. Ensure compliance with legislation and Youth Justice Board standards. Represent the YJS and Local Authority in court, panels, and professional meetings. Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development. Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required. What You’ll Bring A degree-level or professional qualification in Social Work, Education, Health, Youth Work, Probation, Police, or a related discipline. Experience of safeguarding, assessments, SMART planning, and interventions. Strong communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to engage young people, families, and professionals. Knowledge of Youth Justice legislation and restorative approaches. Resilience, cultural sensitivity, and a collaborative approach to working with diverse communities. Why Choose Havering?
