The Role We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Operations Manager to help run and grow the business, working closely with the Director as his right-hand support. This role is critical to the smooth delivery of projects and customer satisfaction. Conservatory experience is essential, as is a background in surveying and installation. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable managing installation teams, resolving customer issues, and stepping in on-site when needed. This is a varied role that combines operational oversight, project delivery, customer service, and hands-on problem-solving. Key Responsibilities Operational Oversight • Run the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring smooth project delivery. • Monitor installation schedules, allocate resources, and oversee logistics. • Support the office team in chasing suppliers and resolving delivery issues. Project & Site Management • Oversee installation teams, ensuring high-quality work and efficiency. • Attend sites regularly to check progress, resolve issues, and deal with customer concerns. • Ensure remedial works are carried out promptly and effectively. • Step in on smaller installation or survey jobs where required. Customer & Financial Management • Act as a key contact for customers, managing complaints and ensuring satisfaction. • Monitor the debt list and proactively liaise with customers to resolve outstanding balances. • Provide clear updates to customers throughout their project journey. Leadership & Support • Lead, support, and motivate installation and office staff. • Foster a strong culture of teamwork, pride, and accountability. • Work closely with the Director to implement business strategies and achieve targets. Health & Safety • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards across all projects. • Promote safe working practices for all staff and subcontractors. Skills & Experience • Extensive conservatory experience is essential. • Proven background in surveying, installations, and project management. • Strong leadership skills, able to manage teams. • Excellent problem-solving ability and a practical, hands-on approach. • Customer-focused with strong communication and negotiation skills. • Financial awareness, including experience with budgets and debt management. • IT literacy and familiarity with project management tools.
