Special needs teaching assitants required for SEN provision in Bristol A special needs school in Bristol are looking for a number of people to take on full time work in their school for September, with potentially the option of starting sooner in the summer term. This work would see you working 8:30-3:30, Monday to Friday and term time only. For the right placements, this work could lead to a permanent post should the fit work both you and the school. The school which is part of a wider group of SEN schools caters to students from as young as 5 up to 16 and all will have a form of autism and/or ADHD as well as moderate learning difficulties. For many students they can exhibit their needs through emotional dysregulation and behaviours. The school are looking for people that can anticipate triggers, manage behaviours and remain firm on boundaries as well as expectations on learning. We are looking for people that can really can drive effective relationships with students and offer positive engagement. Requirements; - Experience with special needs, especially autism, ADHD and MLD. - Experience in a school is desirable but not essential, we would also consider those that have worked with children or young adults in care, or perhaps those that have done youth work. - Resilient, and able to handle the daily challenges that come with supporting those with special needs.
