About Our Opportunity
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people and developing skills through real projects. It involves supporting our commercial teams in identifying risks, developing proposals, managing contracts, and analyzing business cases. The position provides an opportunity to develop towards the Level 4 Sales Executive Apprenticeship Standard, with the potential for permanent employment.
Based on an operational site, candidates must be 18 or over due to health and safety considerations.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Commercial Buyer Apprentice, your responsibilities will include:
* Purchasing materials in line with cost, quality, and delivery targets
* Negotiating contracts and improving prices and terms with suppliers
* Building and maintaining supplier relationships and ensuring good communication
* Assessing supplier performance for contract compliance
* Resolving price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues with suppliers
* Acting as an interface between suppliers and relevant departments
* Monitoring market trends and competitor strategies
* Preparing reports and updates as needed
* Visiting customers and suppliers regularly
* Supporting other Commercial Buyers and developing accounts to meet targets
