Overview
Parkinson Lee are currently supporting a private equity–backed manufacturing group on a confidential interim requirement to help prepare the business for its next stage of growth and eventual exit. Following a fairly recent acquisition, the group now operates across multiple UK sites and is entering a critical phase of systems alignment, reporting consolidation, and investor-readiness.
Working closely with the Group Finance Director, this role will play a pivotal part in creating consistency across the business, strengthening management information, and supporting strategic decision-making at board level.
Day Rate: c.£1,000 per day (Outside of IR35)
Confidential Assignment – PE-backed Manufacturing Group
This is a confidential interim assignment, reporting directly to the Group Finance Director. The role offers hybrid working with travel to sites in the Midlands and Derbyshire c.1 day per week.
Responsibilities
* Lead the harmonisation of reporting, processes, and financial models across multiple sites
* Support the alignment of systems (ERP/standard costing) and drive consistency in data and controls
* Build investor-ready reporting packs and ensure information can withstand external due diligence
* Strengthen links between operational KPIs and financial performance
* Act as a senior finance partner to the Group FD, MD and Chairman through the exit-preparation phase
The ideal profile
* Senior finance professional with a strong manufacturing background - ideally aerospace, automotive, or engineered products
* Proven experience in PE-backed or investor-led environments, particularly around exit preparation, due diligence and integration
* Hands-on, pragmatic, and confident operating in a complex, multi-site setting
* Comfortable with a fractional or flexible engagement (e.g. variation of 2–5 days per week depending on workload)
* Commercially minded and able to translate operational performance into meaningful financial insight
