Manufacturing Engineer – Robotics Automation

You will be playing a key role in the installation and commissioning of a brand‑new automated welding cell, working with multi‑disciplinary teams, modern production tools, and multimillion‑pound evolving technologies.
What You’ll Be doing:
* Installing and commissioning automated welding robots and fixtures
* Lead resolution of complex manufacturing issues
* Manage full project lifecycle for NPI, automation, and improvement projects
* Develop and optimise manufacturing processes (PFMEA, control plans, process flows)
* Monitor and report on project performance against PQVC targets
* Define equipment specifications and ensure installation readiness
* Work cross‑functionally with operations, H&S, and engineering teams
What You’ll Need:
* Mechanical engineering background (3 - 5 years)
* Installation and commissioning experience with automated or robotic systems
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production technologies
* Experience working with turnkey automated equipment suppliers
* Experience using structured problem‑solving tools (8D, 5‑Why, fishbone diagrams) and other appropriate quality tools
* 6 Sigma project leadership experience.
* Experience with control systems or industrial robot programming
