About the Role: Reed education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Cambridge. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Assisting the pupil with classwork as set out by the class teacher.
* Ensuring the pupil remains on task and engaged with their learning activities.
* Supporting the pupil's behaviour both inside and outside the classroom.
* Liaising with the SENCO and class teacher to develop and implement a tailored educational plan.
* Accompanying the pupil to the sensory room during periods of overwhelm.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide consistent and individualized support to the pupil.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Collaborate with school staff to ensure the pupil's educational needs are met.
* Monitor and report on the pupil's progress and behaviour.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with ASD or other special educational needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
* Uk address and right to work
