About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and talented Accounts Assistant to join our friendly and professional finance team. You'll support the Head of Finance with a range of day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks — helping us keep things running smoothly and accurately across all areas of finance.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, precision, and teamwork. You'll need to be well-organised, proactive, and confident in managing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
What You'll Do
* Manage Accounts Receivable: Sales invoicing (including CIS/Reverse Charge VAT), weekly credit control, and customer queries
* Handle Accounts Payable: Process purchase invoices, assist with payment runs, and reconcile supplier statements
* Complete bank reconciliations, record expenses, and manage vehicle lease payments
* Support month-end tasks: accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and control account reconciliations
* Maintain electronic and paper filing systems, manage the accounts inbox, and handle general finance admin
* Assist the Head of Finance with weekly reporting and provide cover when required
About You
* AAT Level 3 qualified or studying towards it
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar accounts role
* Proficient in SAGE 50 and Microsoft Office (especially Excel formulas)
* Good knowledge of bookkeeping, accruals, prepayments, VAT, and credit control
* Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills
* Confident on the phone and able to work both independently and as part of a team
