About the Role
As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for analysing project requirements, preparing detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, and equipment, and ensuring accurate, competitive tender submissions. You’ll play a key role in securing new business and supporting project delivery from concept through to handover.
Key Responsibilities
Produce cost plans and estimates for a variety of large-scale, complex projects.
Review tender documentation and deliver comprehensive launch proposals.
Identify the resources and risks associated with each bid.
Prepare analytical net cost estimates, including preliminaries, in line with company procedures.
Liaise with construction planners, design managers, bid managers, and consultants to develop robust tender proposals.
Present tender packages for internal adjudication and support with post-tender negotiations.
Convert successful estimates into actionable project briefs and ensure seamless handover to operations teams.
Actively participate in client negotiations to secure contracts.
Required Qualifications & Experience
2+ years' experience in estimating with a main electrical or building services contractor.
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Excellent understanding of electrical technology, systems, and modern construction techniques.
Proficient in estimating from first principles.
Relevant qualification in Construction, Electrical Engineering, or Building Services (HND or equivalent).
Strong team player with ability to work independently.
Motivated and proactive with a solutions-focused mindset.
EU or international project experience is a distinct advantage.
