Overview
We are hiring for the Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) Operational Delivery Graduate Scheme. The two-year programme provides hands‑on experience in Through Life Support (TLS), professional development and a path to a civil service career.
Responsibilities
* Determine resource schedules for producing and maintaining TLS aspects of equipment acquisition and in‑service projects.
* Build and maintain stakeholder and assurance community networks.
* Support the production and validation of TLS, use cases and associated deliverables.
* Gain understanding and skills to produce and monitor availability, reliability and maintainability estimates, drawing on mathematical and statistical knowledge.
* Develop skills in technical report writing.
* Build proficiency in conducting Supportability Analysis (SA) and develop negotiation skills for recommending trade‑offs, alternative support solutions and options to be considered.
Qualifications & Selection Process
* Eligibility checks (Dec 2025) – We review your application form to ensure you meet our minimum selection criteria and nationality requirements.
* Assessment Centre (Jan‑Feb 2026) – Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an assessment centre at DE&S headquarters, MOD Abbey Wood, Bristol. The centre includes an interview, presentation and a group activity. Attendance is required in person; virtual participation is not available.
* Provisional Offer (Feb 2026) – Offers are made to the number of roles available, based on order of merit.
* Onboarding (Mar – Aug 2026) – All pre‑employment checks will take place to confirm you meet our minimum selection and eligibility criteria. If successful, we will provide a formal offer of employment.
During the selection process we assess your behaviours: Communicating & Influencing, Working Together, Making Effective Decisions, Delivering at Pace. Interactive assessments take around 20‑30 minutes.
Eligibility & Security
* UK residency for the last 5 years
* Security Check (SC) clearance required; a conditional offer will be withdrawn if clearance is not obtained prior to the start of the scheme.
* Right to work in the UK (DE&S does not sponsor visas)
* Minimum selection criteria: GCSE Maths and English Language (grade 4 or above); Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in any subject at a minimum grade 2:2; Pass at online assessment stage.
