Contract: Full‑time, long‑term
Pay: £90–£110 per day (dependant on experience)

About the Role
Teaching Personnel are seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to support pupils across mainstream primary schools in Blackburn & Darwen.
This role is ideal for professionals with strong experience in:
* Behaviour management
* SEMH support
* De‑escalation strategies
* 1:1 or small‑group behaviour work
You will work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to help pupils regulate behaviour, engage in learning, and develop emotional and social skills.

Requirements (Experienced Behaviour Staff Only)
Applicants must have:
✔ Strong experience supporting children with behavioural needs or SEMH
✔ Experience in a primary school, SEMH provision, PRU, or similar setting
✔ Knowledge of de‑escalation and positive behaviour strategies
✔ Ability to build trusting relationships quickly
✔ A calm, resilient, patient approach
✔ An enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
❌ Not suitable for candidates with no relevant school or youth experience.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small‑group behaviour support
* Implement behaviour plans and targeted strategies
* Help children develop self‑regulation and emotional awareness
* Use de‑escalation techniques where appropriate
* Promote a positive, encouraging learning environment
* Work closely with the SENCO and pastoral teams
* Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom
* Record behaviour incidents and communicate progress

* SEMH, behaviour or pastoral experience
* Confidence managing challenging behaviour
* Strong communication and rapport‑building skills
* Empathy, resilience and consistency
* Experience working with children aged 4–11
